BlipVibe LLC ("BlipVibe," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the BlipVibe mobile app and website (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
When you create an account and use BlipVibe, we collect:
- Account information: email address, username, display name, password (stored as a one-way hash), date of birth (used to verify minimum age and never displayed publicly).
- Profile content: avatar, cover photo, bio, and any other profile details you choose to add.
- User-generated content: posts, comments, stories, photos, videos, voice notes, direct messages, group messages, and reactions you create on the Service.
- Usage data: the actions you take (likes, follows, posts viewed), the device and browser you use, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and timestamps. We use this to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- Optional precise location: only if you explicitly opt in to share your location on a post.
- Cookies and local storage: we use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and prevent fraud.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To personalize your feed and recommendations.
- To send you transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, security alerts).
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Use.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run BlipVibe (e.g., Supabase for database and authentication, Klipy for GIF search, our email delivery provider). These providers are bound by contract to use your data only to provide their service to us.
- Other users, with respect to content you choose to make public (your profile, posts, comments, etc.).
- Authorities, if required by valid legal process or to protect the safety of users or the public.
- A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality obligations.
4. Children
BlipVibe is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email hello@blipvibe.com.
5. Your rights and choices
- Access & export: email hello@blipvibe.com to request a copy of your account data. We respond within 30 days.
- Correction: you can edit most profile and content data directly in the app.
- Deletion: you can permanently delete your account from Settings > Delete Account, or by emailing us. Deletion removes your posts, comments, messages, and uploaded media.
- Opt out of location: turn off location sharing in Settings.
- Opt out of marketing email: we do not send marketing email by default. Transactional email (security, password resets) cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
If you are in the EU/UK or California, you have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including the right to know what personal data we hold and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. Email hello@blipvibe.com to exercise these rights.
6. Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (e.g., for tax or fraud-prevention purposes) or where it has been anonymized so it can no longer identify you.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS for all traffic, encrypted at-rest storage via Supabase, hashed passwords) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you suspect a security issue, email hello@blipvibe.com immediately.
8. International transfers
BlipVibe is operated in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
9. Third-party content
BlipVibe may display embedded content from third parties (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, Spotify, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Klipy GIFs). These third parties may set their own cookies and collect their own data, governed by their own privacy policies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
